         05/14/91.


         3. (U) KEYWORDS: EPW7 CASE, CONSTRUCTION

         4. (U) TITLE: EPW Cage Construction

         5. (U) OBSERVATION: Designs for Division EPW cages were
         inadequate.

         6. (U) DISCUSSION: A lack of a standard design +or EPW cages of
         various sizes hampered construction and logistical planning.
         The engineers were not able to plan the use of limited assets.
         The S-4 was not able to identify, stock, and push forward Class
         IV to support EPW construction.

         7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: N/A

         S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Division PMO develop and/or pro@ide
        .standard designs for various sized EPW cages. Logistics (S-4)
         and engineers (Divisional Engineer Battalion) units train on EPW
         construction operations ICW EDREsl EXEVALS, and FTXS.
