          2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD/STORM conducted by CENTCOM on
          05/14/91.


          3. (U) KEYWORDS: EOD TRAININS


          4. (U) TITLE: EDD Training

          5. (U) OBSERVATION: EOD-trained personnel attached to the
          battalion were vital to battalion operations during the denial
          operations of DESERT STORM.

          6. (U) DISCUSSION-. The training provided at EOD School would
          greatly enhance the readiness of our companies. Having EDD
          Teams attached during DESERT STORM clearly insured safe mission
          accomplishment, especially during denial operations.

          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: N/A


          S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Send selected members of the
          battalion (at least one per line company) to All-Arms Courses
          given at the EOD School. Division or Corps must secure slots.
          Failing thisg routinely plan (perhaps place in RSOP) for EOD
          Teams to be attached to engineer line companies upon alert
          notification.
