4. (U) TITLE: Mine Effects Simulator
S. (U) OBSERVATION: We have no training aid which can simulate
land mine effects.
6. (U) DISCUSSION: During the train-up +or DESERT STORM it
became obvious that there is a need for a mine effects
simulator. This was especially true since we were entering a
mine-rich environment in Iraq. Maneuver -Forces and engineers
ble
to be
sensitive to MILES as well.
7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: N/A
S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the USAES develop and field a
mine-effects simulator which can be used with MILES as soon as
possible. This will increase the realism of our EXEVALS,
ARTEPS, and engineer training a great deal.
