          2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIFLD/STORM conducted by CENTCOM on
          05/14/91.


          3. (U) KEYWORDS: CLASS IV


          4. (U) TITLE: Division Class IV

          5. (U) OBSERVATION: The acquisition of Class IV was a continual
          problem for the engineers. We were also required several @^es
          to give up all of our Class IV to support projects such as the
          Iraqi Strong Point.

          6. (U) DISCUSSION: The management of Division Class IV assets
          was decentralized with little management from the Division as
          far as projecting needs and placing requisitions at the Division
          level.


          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: N/A


          B. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: The division must be more proactive
          in the future on requisitioning Class IV and establishing a
          Division Class IV yard to supply Division requirements instead
          a-F relying an the local economy or the unit's ability to supply
          all a+ their own Class IV requirements.
