   SUBJE'-T. STAFF VISIT FOR WATER IDEN"!Fl@-ATI'WN FOR 2A-@R


   1. Received the mission on 29 March to deploy to RLOC, '@A'@R to
   fix a water pump. MSG WheL-idon, and '4 departed at 0600 from the
   Army Aviation Airfield in KKMC. We arrived at the RLDC at 1100
   hours.


   2. We reported to the S-.-@ of the Regi-rpenta.1 Service Support
   Squadron and were received by Major Mauro and MSG Dunn. MSG Dunn
   organized transportation and took us to two well si'@es.

   3. -the first well site '@NV947@'7'@'@151) had two well casing in the
   ground.
         a. Tiie surrounding ;-Area was flat and barren of any
   vegetation. There was a natural gas pump station near the wel1l.

         b.  The well consisted of a        (ODI well case that stuck
   good foot above the ground. The drilling must have been recent
   because 'there were bags of bentonite and pipe           on the site
   'withir-f the last year).

         C:. There was water -in '-he pipe at the i5+t           We r-at:t'xd
   not determine the entire depth of 'the p-lpe. Water was stagnated
   and smelly. A sample was taken for evaluation.

   4. The second well site CNV7868330718) has 'the same '@errain
   characteristic as the first well site.


         a. A steel pipe was dropped into the well by accident and
   it took @@O seconds for the pipe '@o stop banging against the
   casing.

         b. There is water at 18+t below the ground level. The well
   -s at least         deep (it was the 1-IsTil'@ of our ball of string).

         C.  The water had a strong brackish smell with a 'Heavy u@ose
   of natural gas or petroleum smell.



   5.  There is a green area vicinity NV772'-7'@@31401@ where there -is an
   extensive agricultural effort. It is possible to use irrigation
   ditches as a source of water in this area. This needs more
2ACR.

   6. At NV70@348, we found another well casing with a broken
   sl:tbritersible pump. This well is located right -in the -3 Squadron
   perimeter and within a well developed natural gas plant. @the
   &-jell has the standard 10" well casing.

         la. There is water 18T't below the surface of the ground and
   the pipe is longer than 135T't.
