         MMORANDUM FOR ADCS

         SUBJ=: Medical Support Backbrief; Ist Brigade


         1. A medical support backbrief was held at C Co 24 SB on 14 Feb 91.
         The meeting was attended by brigade medical personnel. The Brigade
         Division and CORPS support plans were reviewed. The discussion focused
         on evacuation and location of medical treatment facilities.

         2. This was followed by a review of the medical readiness of the
         brigade by verbal report. Enclosed is a copy of the status report
         which evaluates multiple areas of the medical support on a scale of 0
         100% readiness. Some of the areas of note Include:

             a.  Medical Surveillance - The Bde Is currently not implementing
                 the reporting requirement of the SOP.

                 Action: Medical company and Bde Surgeon'wlll review
                         reporting r@rements and implement    within 48 hours.

             b.  Combat Stress Management - Leadership has not'completed
                 training which is scheduled to occur within 48 hours.

                 Action: Bde will complete training and report to Division
                          Surgeon.

         3.  Overall, the medical readiness of the Brigade Is very good.

         4. POC is Division Surgeon's Office, 9-7662-144.
