          on 03/05/91.

          4. (U) TITLE: MEMORIAL SERVICES IN THE FIELD

          5. (U) OBSERVATION: No bugler was available for memorial
          services during pauses in the battle.

          6. (U) DISCUSSION: Memorial services were planned by commanders
          and chaplains to honor the dead of the units prior to any
          further action. Bugler was not available due to
          non-availability of instruments.

          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Prior planning allowed a  taped version
          to be used.

          S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Include two trumpets  with band's
          basic load to go into battle. Continue to be prepared to
          provide the taped version as necessary.
