           4. (U) TITLE: CONFIGURATION OF THE CORPS SUPPORT BATTALIONS

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: There was no logical configuration of the
           corps support battalions in order to allow them to provide
           multifunctional support.

           6. (U) DISCUSSION: There was no medium truck company assigned
           to the group until three weeks prior to the beginning of
           OPERATION DESERT STORM. Since the group was assisting a heavy
           division, two of these companies should have been assigned. In
           addition, the two HET companies were late arriving in-country.
           The two supply and service companies did not enter country until
           November and were not operational until December. Their
           equipment was outdated, and the laundries and bakeryts never
           functioned properly.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: There was an inadequacy of both
           transportation and service assets which were never rectified.
