            4. (U) TITLE: SHIP BREAKDOWN

            5. (U) OBSERVATION: Breakdown of the transport ship, Antares,
            with 100% of DISCOM equipment placed unnecessary strain on the
            logistics system.

            6. (U) DISCUSSION: All of DISCOMfs @ipment was placed on one
            ship during deployment. This ship, Antares, suffered
            mechanical problems resulting in a significant delay in its
            arrival to the Saudi Theater.

            7. (U) LESSON      ED: We should not place all "eggs in one
            basket". This could be particularly catastrophic with enemy air
            interdiction of shipping lanes.

            S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Disperse DISCOM's assets
            particularly HET's & lowboys to insure ability to quickly
            download and move equipment from the SPOD. This is particularly
            important going into theater where pre-coordinated host-nation
            support is minimal.
