          4. (U) TITLE: MOVEMENT OF THE ARTILLERY

          S. (U) OBSERVATION: The speed of the 2nd Bde Task Force
          prevented the traditional "leap frogging" of the artillery
          during offensive operations.

          6. (U) DISCUSSION: During most of the operation, all artillery
          units were moving at the same time. When fires were needed, a
          firing unit conducted a hasty occupation and fired. The DS
          battalion provided timely fires by travelling in a battalion
          formation with three firing batteries abreast. Each firing
          battery traveled in a wedge which facilitated hasty missions.

          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: This procedure worked very well and
          fires were always available for the task forces.
