          2. (U) Other OPN DESERT STORM NOTES conducted by 24 IN DIV (MECH)
          on 03/05/91.

          3. (U) KEYWORDS: EPW, MILITARY POLICE,

          4. (U) TITLE: EPW OPERATIONS

          5. (U) OBSERVATION: 24 ID had difficulty transferring EPW to
          corps military police.

          6. (U) DISCUSSION: The division executed OPLAN ahead of the
          planned time schedule. Its MP's were barely able to keep up
          with the brigades. It appears that corps MP's were unable to
          adjust and move forward to take control of EPW'S. This resulted
          in the 24 ID passing EPW's to 82 Div MP's on two occasions in
          order for 24 ID MP's to keep up with forward units.

          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Corps units must be as flexible as
          division units or division support will suffer.

          8. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: The Army must relook military police
          doctrine.
