         4-S TC,   SFC Ashley, looks up to see ar) ex .plaslon on the turret of Ci2.
         c Ashley tells his gunner to fire and the BMP is destroyed by a sabot

       round. (NOTET SFC Ashley believes that C12 was hit-by 73mm fire from the

       BMp that he later killed. This is contrary to the report by 2LT Carroll of

       B Company that.CI2 was hit on the left by an RPG.)

           Inside C12, SSG Jones, the TC, is'hit by shrapnel in the shoulder and

       face when. thc?....enem),t- round.hits.hi-s C.AL .50..m@nt. Thefimpect.qauses the

       t--tnk*S fire suppression,,system tQ P-ngage.blasting HAL-ON.,in tc),the face of

       the driver- The. driver yL-Ils ici.,surpris.e and pain. SSG Jon@,. thinking the

       driver to be hit and the tank about to go up in flames, opens his hatch

       and dismounts the tank, collapsing to the right rear of the vehicle and

       waving his arms for assistance. SGT Groeniger, the gunner, reevaluates the

       situation and calms down the crew. Not knowing what has happened to SSG

       Jones, SGT Broeniger orders SPC Moyer, the loader (who has fired before),

       in the gunner's position, and places himself in the TC's position. He

       buttons up the tank and prepares to fight with a modified 3 man crew.

       AdditionLilly he reports his situation to SFC Ashley

           Meanwhile, SSG Jones has crawled over to CII and is trying to get on

       the tank. SFC Ashley screams to SSG Jones to get down and calls Cll and

       tells the crew not to back up. C66 arrives to evaluate the situation and

       CPT SZAbo has his gunner SOT Hill, and loader SGT Cooks, dismount and

       checik on SSG Jones and C12's crew. ISO Fiaoni arrives with the medic track

       to evkcuat :-@SG Jones as mortar/artillery continues to +all. SSG Jones is

       quickly taken-back to the Combat Trains led by ISO Fiaoni

           .As C12 is hit, CPT Szabo decides to withdraw his company -From what he
