         arrive the ramp to the FSO's track is d6ming down. Th     .e lSS and the me
         pull  SSG Dillon    from the track and 'Start -working 6n' him, cutting off
         flak vest, shirt, and parka. Forward of the FSO, DPICM strips TA50 from

         the right side of C24, punching dime-sized holes in the bore evacuator a.-.c

         thermal shroud.
             Shrapnel from the DPICM cuts the FSO's CVC cord. SSG Katula acts as
         FSO for five minutes, followed by ILT Conway of D Company for

         until CPT Patton can repair his communications.
             On the third and final bound at about 0200, C Company tanks engage th
         heads of Iraqi dismounts as they look out from their fighting posit:cns.
