                Resistance forces:
                a. Kurds% 1000 hrs, 30 Mar 91, in Mosul, military and
       special security forces gathered the many of the Kurds from their
       homes and took then to the "College for Administration", where the
       Kurds are being tortured and starved.
                b. Baghdad: Although rebel forces control no sections of
       Baghdad, they still actively resist. Many former reservists own
       government issue weapons. Water is available; food is scarce and
       expensive.

       2. @     Government forces/personnel:
                a. Basrah: In a speech 3 Mar 91, Ali Hassan Majid told the
       people of Basrah, "I am Ali Hassan Majid; if you donft know me, ask
       the people in the North." Majid had soldiers bind, blindfold, pour
       gasoline into, and shoot 300 students from the University of Basrah.
       The students @loded. Crowds watched this occur at several sites on
       campus.
                b. Hussein is using the Mujahadin Khalk (an anti-Khomeini
       Iranian group, exiled to Iraq) to contaminate water and food supplies
       and to cut off supply routes.
                c. The special security members use "special" Mercedes sedans
       and pick-up trucks with machine guns.
                d. Hussein personally selected people to run various towns
       and cities as long ago as 1981. He paid them an extra 12,000 dinars,
       and gave them a new house, a new car annually, and special
 Party. One of these
       pro-goverriment leaders, Sfieah Agrsh, has committed various atrocities
       against the people of Nasiriyah and other towns in the vicinity, such
       as tying deserter's hands together and pushing them into the Euphrates
       to drown.

       3. @     Chemical use:
                a. Helicopters  sprayed sulfuric acid on Karbala, killing 'many

                b. Soldiers  fired artillery shells with phosphoric acid at
       Najif at 1800 21 Mar  91 and 0700 22 Mar 91.
