       (U) IMMUNIZATION: SS shots were administered to all soldiers
requiring 2.5cc's if they only received 2.5cc prior to

deployment. A record of all personnel receiving immunization are

maintained an a d@ita base. Influenza vaccinations were

administered on 4 Jan 91. Shot records were annotated.

Coordination with the Sth Evacuation Hospitil made it possible

for a team to administer the immunization at our site. The
5 U.S.C. anthrax vaccine was administered an 15 and 16 January
urgeon's Office wanted the brigade personnel

unization at designated clinics. The brigade

soldiers in the Rrea which require the

immunization. Hal-F of them have just arrived in theater and have

no transportation until the krrival of their equipment. The

remainder of the soldiers are required to maintkin communication

support on site. The time and transportation required to move

the brigade to designated clinics would stop the brigade's

mission. After a long process we finally got the ARCENT Surgeon

to agree to send teams to our site. We provided transporation

and ac3ordinated place, time and effort. Some soldiers refused to

be administered the vaccine, however, after making it a command

directive and authority under paragraph 5-4, AR 600-20, soldiers

had to take the vaccine. There were a few personnel who reacted

to the vaccine. We had planned evacuation procedures thereby

these emergencies were handled with the most expeditious and

               professional manner.
