SUBJECT: After Action Report, 800th MP Bde (PW)

         1. Description of the Operation: The 800th MP Bde, HHC was mobi-
lized on 6 December 1990 and closed on our Mobilization Station,
Fort Meade, MD on Monday the 10th of December 1990.

Our mission involvement began before our mobilization by iden-
tifying the support required for the theater EPW operation as ear-
ly as August 1990. Initial requirements were reduced to writing
and transmitted to the 89th MP Bde who had the EPW/CI mission ear-
         ly on.

Once at the mobilization station, the 800th MP Bde was able
to communicate with ARCENT PMO and the 89th MP Bde. The mission
guidance available was limited due to the classification of the
Operation Desert Storm OPLAN. The 800th MP Bde concentrated on
training of the MP force structure task organized by FORSCOM to
this headquarters and the training required for the MP Co's, MTOE
19-077 Combat Support, assigned the EPW Guard and Escort Guard
mission at the EPW camps. The 800th MP Bde also provided train-
ing guidance for those companies reconstituted as processing com-
panies for the EPW mission. In addition, the 800th issued com-
mand guidance to each camp headquarters assigned, preparing them
for their assigned mission of establishing a 12,000 EPW camp with
a be prepared mission to expand to 24,000 each with no additional
         force structure.

Once in country, our command guidance was received through
Headquarters, USARCENT Desert Storm OPLAN 001, dtd 5 Jan 1991,
which provided that COMUSARCENT serve as the USCENTCOM executive
for EPW operations. The 800th MP Bde was the USARCENT designee
for the conduct of the theater EPW mission and reported to the
         CG, 22nd SUPCOM.
