2 December - Port placed on alert due to launch of Scud
missiles in Iraq. Troops ordered to go to Mission Oriented
Protective Posture (MOPP) level 4. Troops and junior leaders
perform well. Bn radio net works well as only essential
information is passed. it is an advantage that we have our
own net. Civilian drivers directed to get in their trucks,
roll up the windows, and shut off engines. On order, Bn
stands down.

Remainder of Bn task force displaces to Jubayl under the
command of the Sn XO, MAJ Roll.
4 December - MIAL tanks are being fitted with additional
armor on the forward slope of the turret, as well as other
improvements. Perhaps the tank should be redesignated as the
MlAlA. M2 and M3 series vehicles for the Bradley exchange
are being fitted with additional armor as well. The Army is
clearly trying to insure that our soldiers have the best
chance for survival when the war starts.
