             2 February - Bn is issued ciprofloxacin HCL (500 mg)
            tablets. These are for use if the unit is exposed to
            anthrax. The tablets are held at command level, and will be
            taken on order. The dosage is one tablet every 12 hours for
            5 days. The treatment would be continued as long as needed.

             3 February - Riyadh is attacked by scud missiles. Bn S3
            returns from Jeddah with remainder of vehicles.

             4 February - Convoy operations continue.

             5 February - The small arms ammunition problem has been
            solved by the military drivers. It seems that the going rate
            of trade for 10 each rounds of 5.56 MM M-16 ball ammunition
            is I bottle of drinking water. Similar deals solve the
            shortage of 45 cal ammo needed for the battalion's M-191IA1
            pistols. Efforts to obtain additional 45 cal clips through
            the supply system have been unsuccessful. The magazines are
            mailed from the United States by the S3's brother. What else
            are friends for?

             6 February - Bn S3, and SGT Racosi depart by USAF C-130
            to airlift to Doha, Qutar to look at tractor trailer assets.

             7 February - Convoy operations continue.

             8 February - In Doha the best maintained trucks are owned by
            firms owned and managed by Palestinians. over numerous cups
            of thick Turkish coffee, they agree to rent their trucks to
            US.

             9 February - The air war against Iraq intensifies.

            10 February - Bn S3 and SGT Racosi return by C-130 from Doha.

            11 February - ILT Scanlin and troops from D Co depart for
            Qutari border to pick up tractor trailers. Bn XO arrives

            12 February - Convoy operations continue.                  1404th
            Trans Co, is hospitalized at Log Base Alpha with a hernia.

            13 February - D Co and 1404th Trans Co troops move to Qutari
            border to obtain commercial tractor trailers, and move them
            to Jubayl.

            14 February - En is directed by 7 Gp to provide operations
            spot reports for civilian employee status every 2 hours, and
            any incidents of soldiers involved in direct combat or
            terrorist situations. Civilian employee status includes the
            number and circumstances of drivers who do not report to work
            or refuse to work. Second set of secret vaccinations begins.
            These are for botulism. No moon.
