15 February - Bn Cdr travels to Jubayl to conduct a
conference with his company commanders. Bn S3 visits Bn
Operations at Jubayl. Hopes for peace are raised when Iraq
offers to withdraw from Kuwait. The offer turns out to be
just another propaganda ploy. Allied air attacks continue
unabated. Bn strength: 812 soldiers. Assets available:
           499 flatbed trucks.

16 February - Scud attacks on Riyadh and Jubayl. The
incoming missiles detonate at altitude. This is considered
to be an indicator of preparations for chemical attack by the
enemy. 1404th Trans Co's third platoon departs for Log Base
Alpha. Bn Cdr, Bn 3-4, ILT Hernandez, and HHD Cdr, ILT
Strong, depart for a visit to Jubayl, Log Base Alpha and
other points along the northern MSR.

17 February - Bn S3, Bn S-2, CPT Blake, and Bn NBC NCO, SSG
Walker, visit Jubayl. Bn S3 confers with CPT Meinhold, the
operations officer at Jubayl. Smoke from the hundreds of oil
field well heads, and refinery facilities set on fire in
Kuwait by the Iraqi Army cloud the normally clear blue skies
of this region. The smoke is heavy enough to reduce
visibility considerably. The darkness of the sky creates an
illusion of nightfall even at noon. This systematic
destruction of property is being coupled with the execution
of civilians by the Iraqis, apparently as part of a scorched
earth policy. They will be made to account for it.

18 February - Bn Cdr, S4.and HHD Cdr return from visit to
Jubayl and Log Base Alpha. Recon of northern MSR reveals
heavy traffic with hundreds of US and UK vehicles moving
           northwest.

           19 February - No change.

           20 February - 7 GP FRAGO 24-91; Mission: 702 Trans Bn will
OPCON one reenforced truck platoon to 180 Trans Bn NLT 23
24:00 FEB 91 to provide line haul support for the clearance
           of Log Base Bravo.

702 FRAGO 09-91; Mission: Relocate I reinforced truck platoon
to Log Base Bravo. Platoon will be OPCON to 180 Trans Bn for
           line haul support.

21 February - Scud attacks against Hafar al Batin. Air raid
sirens sound throughout the Eastern Province. Heavy bombing
and allied artillery attacks are reported in Iraq and Kuwait.
Convoy operations continue from both Dammam and Jubayl. Bn
deploys a reinforced platoon of soldiers from Delta Company
in Jubayl to Log Base Bravo, near KXMC. The platoon under
the leadership of ILT Scanlin will be under the operational
control of the 180th Transportation Battalion.

22 February - Scud attacks against Bahrain, and Hafar al
