Patients are, not surprisingly, starting to show up in
greater numbers. We are here in the middle of nowhere, but we
are still being found by Iraqils, Kuwaiti's and Bedouins from who
knows where. We begin to add to the size of the hospital, with
new beds filling up as quickly as we can add them on. We see
three critically injured patients from an automobile accident, and
the operating room staff once more heads back into the fray.

MG Yates, the commander of the 3rd Armored Division, is
visiting today. He commends us for the fine job we are doing in
support of his troops. Many of us don't get to see him, though
as the influx of Iraqi refugees is growing ever heavier, requiring
more and more staff for longer periods of time. the wards are
rapidly being filled to capacity with the sick and injured victims
of a wild man's regime.

A Blackhawk unit from the rear (airfield near Al Qaysumih)
has joined our merry band here in our new compound. Their mission
will be long range medical evacuation by both day and night, as we
