begin our mission in earnest: stabilizing and transporting to more
advanced facilities. It looks as though we are going to be here
for awhile, and the Iraqi's know it. We have seen 95 patients
since we've set up, and judging from the news on the BBC, we're
going to be seeing a lot more. Civil unrest in southern Iraq is
provoking a veritable flood of refugees across the trackless
Kuwaiti border. They are looking for help, and we are it.o

We are adding even more wards to our tiny hospital,
expanding us to our near maximum of 60 beds. We've also set up
GP medium and GP large holding tents for our "overflow" of family
and friends who accompany the sick and injured. MRE's remain
popular with the Iraqi's, especially the fruit. Just have to be
careful that we don't give them anything with pork and ham, as
these are predominantly Shiite Muslims, with strict dietary laws.
our census shows that we've treated 158 people here during the
past 4 days. It is quite a demanding pace.

The first civilian cluster bomb victim dies today, and
unfortunately it is a child. These insidious things are sprinkled
all over the desert, and,despite numerous warnings to the
