of the doctors and enlisted personnel. In the middle of their
visit, 4 more children arrive with the usual cluster bomb
injuries. There were 5 victims, but one died at the site of
explosion. Again, the operating room is running at full tilt, and
CNN, to their credit, dutifully records all our activities.
The opinion of the staff is nearly unanimous at this point.
These people need care, but our unit is not the best suited to
provide it. Wefd never deny them care, but we certainly could
use some relief from a Red Cross hospital, or even an active
duty Evacuation or Combat Support Hospital. We all feel we've
done our mission, and more, and would like very much to go home.

We receive another five Iraqi civilians from a bus accident
today. Two weeks ago, we probably would have treated this as a
mass casualty, but we are becoming used to this type of admission.
Crises are, in fact, becoming a way of life for us.

Two soldiers from the 3rd Armored Division receive severe
shrapnel injuries from a cluster bomb today. They are truly
innocent victims, as they stepped on the bomblet outside of their
