                        1013: TF 2@8 Cav completes the relief of TF 3-32
              on the screenline. As part of the relief TF 2-8 conducts a
              recon
                        1330: The TF 2-8 Cav commander spots seven enemy
              vehicles in a laager site at NT977213. The unit continues
              to observe the enemy while coordination is made with flank
              units and higher. Data is prepared for artillery fires.
                        1448: 2-29 FA(BSR 1-82) engages targets observed
              by 2-8 Cav. Three battalion volleys of DPICM are fired at
              the vehicles.
              Secondary explosions are noted on at least one vehicle.
                        TF 2-5 conducts a breach live fire exercise that
              includes integration of small arms, explosives, vehicles,
              and MICLICS. A/6 Engineers constructed an Iraqi trench
              system for the exercise mock-up and participated in the
              live fire exercise to include the firing of one MICLIC.

                     14 Feb
                        0730: TF 2-8 conducts a mounted recon of the
              border berm.
                        1234: TF 2-8 completes the berm recon.
                        1235: 2-29 FA captures four EPWs while positioned
              forward to support the TF 2-8 recon.
                        1732c 2-8 Cav captures two EPWs on the
                              screenline.
                        TF 2-5 Cav receives a warning order to conduct
              reconnaissance north of the berm prior to a task force
              raid.


                     15 Feb
                        1400: Directed by division to control the border
              berm with direct fires. TF 2-8 moves north to execute the
              mission.
                        TF 2-5 Cav issues the FRAR=O for execution of
              cross border recons and raids.
                        1-82 FA moves to a forward assembly area vic
              PT110038 in preparation for the artillery raid.

              5. Phase Three. Border Screen and Deception Operations

                 a. Phase Three began on 15 February. TF 2-8 moved north
              to the Saudi-Iraqi border and continued to screen the
              brigade front. At the beginning of this phase the FEBA was
              located along the NT/PT 00 east-west grid line. Phase
              Three concluded on 26 February, when the brigade began
              movement to pass through the Ist ID breach lanes.
