13 March with the closure of the brigade to Assembly Area
KILLEEN.

b. Important staff actions conducted during this phase
included:

1) The planning priorities of the battle staff
during this phase were:
a) Maintain readiness to resume offensive
operations on order.
b) Logistically support a brigade located more
than 250 kilometers from its base of supplies.
c) Locate and track disabled equipment dropped
during movement.
d) Conduct the relief of the 2d tde, 24th ID and
conduct defense in sector astride Highway S.
e) Supervise the recovery of high priority Iraqi
equipment, and the destruction of abandoned equipment and
supplies.

2) Major orders published:
a) FRA(30 91-3-P: Destruction of Enemy Equipment
in Sector. Issued to subordinate units on the morning of I
March.
b) FRAGO 91-4: Movement of the brigade south and
occupation of AA KILLEEN. Issued to units on 7 March.
c) FRAGO 91-5: Relief of 24th ID and the Defense
of Highway S. Issued to units on the afternoon of 7 March.
d) FRAGO 91-4-1: Change one to the movement plan
for movement to AA KILLEEN. Issued to units on the
afternoon of iO March.

c. The chronology of the phase included-

01 Mar
The brigade begins destruction of enemy equipment
and munitions, maintains the readiness to resume
operations, and conducts hasty defense.

02-06 Mar
The brigade continues the destruction of enemy
equipment and munitions, recovers disabled equipment, and
maintains readiness to resume offensive operations.

07 Mar
The brigade receives the order from division to
move to the north and effect the relief of 3rd f4CR and
