ULt-S/Cliss IX and the niinagement functions required to ensure
Class IX requisition. status and parts flow properly. This ha WO
been addressed by providing classes to ON XO and BMO'S. It mu
be noted that in many cases company XOs, BM1's, BlISs and PLL
         Supervisors also attended the tltsses.

              g. The inspector's trrctted parts from the main ASL to
various units icross the Division. These parts arrived in the
unit in most cases in days. Only 2 of Z@5 parts did not show
Lip in units. However, there is still a large concern among
units that parts are released and never receved. This can be
attributed to both unit and DSLJ errors in processing, shipping
         and storing parts.

              h. Class IX Managers at both the unit and DS have developed
a dependency on the DS4 dlie-out reconciliation. This is an

                  (1) The DAS-3 computer at DMMC has a backlog that varies
but has been 3 days or more.

                  (2) A disk turn-in sequence from-Linit through Forwird
Support Battalion to Main Support Bit-talion to DMMC is not
established that minimizies the ti.me for request and status to
+low through the system. This process ', as it is operating
presently, can @it times take 3 days or more.

(ZrN) The failure of Ltnits/DSUs to process diskettes
daily also contributed to the reqltistion process.

              j. The operation of computers at the unit and DSUs in a
degraded state has a negative impact on Class IX -flow. Units can
not read disks, process transactions, perform bacl,,-Lip L-tc.5 for
several days. This is attributed to the inability of VLAAT to
react to every problem in a timely manner and units failure to
take immediate actions to have computers reprired.

),. Power fluctuations caused by improperly maintained
generators in some cases will cause a process to abort. This
will often give operators false databases or indications of
         so-Ftware/computer problems.
