8. DOHA North Helipad Procedures
a. A Co, 7/158th Avn Regt will use the four parking spaces
on the eastern half of the helipad. The 159th Medical Company
will use the western half of the helipad, beginning with the
southern most parking space. The northwestern most space is
reserved for transient aircraft. when a helicopter is parked on
the transient space, aircraft will not taxi behind the transient
helicopter. Helicopters will park with the main landing gear on
the crossbar of the painted 'IT".
b. Cold refuel is available from 0700-2200 hours daily. For
other times, call x-5063 to coordinate.
9. Maintenance
a. The 2d Aviation Brigade will maintain 5 (3 general
support, 2 MEDEVAC) fully mission capable Uti-60 helicopters until
the mission is amended.
b. Unscheduled maintenance will occur more often in desert
operations. The response/replacement time from the 2d Avn Bde is
estimated at 24 hours for a contact team, and 24 hours for a
replacement aircraft. The detachment commander will contact A
Co, 7/158th Avn Regt for assistance. If A Co. cannot be reached,
contact 2d Avn Bde S-3 or the 2d Avn Bde AMO.
10. Aviation operations
a. Actions to be accomplished BEFORE takeoff.
(1) Aircraft will carry I case of MREs and 2 cases of water.
These items will be stored in the aft storage compartments. PC
will ensure items in the storage compartments are secured with a
net.
(2) one survival kit per crowmember will be suspended from a
seat mounting provision at station 398.0. The kits may be
suspended vertically, one attached to the other. The kits may
also be secured on the floor at station 387.2 in place of a seat.
Kits will be secured to the floor using the cargo tic down rings.
(3) Crewmembers will have their kevlar helmet and "flack"
vest aboard until completion of EOD operations at DOfiA.
(4) Internal equipment will be secured. Nothing will be
stored under seats which personnel intend to occupy. The tool-
box, if carried, will be secured at station 365 with a cargo tie
down strap.
