            17 Apr 91: 2ACR Commander meeting. Battalion Advance Party flies
            home. It includes S-4, Cooks, BMO, and representatives from each
            company. Fiona Parker enters the world.


            18 Apr 91: (KXMC) The Battalion (-) arrives at the APOE this
            afternoon. Preliminary coordination is made for a 23 April
            departure.


            19 Apr 91: The Battalion's equipment goes to the wash racks.
            Soldiers at XXMC move to PMO area.



            20 Apr 91: The Battalion cleans wash racks. SFC Walls goes to LBE
            and picks up 180 pairs of desert boots. Enough for each soldier to
            have at least one complete desert uniform.


            21 Apr 91: The Battalion props for customs inspection of vehicles
            not painted sand color. Battalion MILVAN guards link up with the BM
            at the PMO. It is hot at KXMC. 83 soldiers come up from port to fly
            with the main body.


            22 Apr 91: Soldiers at KKMC prepare for the 23 April departure. 63
            are scheduled to leave with 3/2 ACR at 230400, and the remaining
            325 depart together at 0700. Soldiers are separated to facilitate
            the customs inspections that will take place that evening. The
            chalk that departs at 0700 the next morning is the first one to
            have its final inspection done prior to arrival at the APOE. Final
            shakedown and customs inspection are done at the holding area at
            2200 hours, and then bags are guarded until loaded on stakebed
            trailers for the trip to the airport. At 2330 hours buses start
            shuttling soldiers to the final customs check area where all carry
            on baggage is checked.


            23 Apr 91: The airplane for chalk 15 is a DC-10. The loadmaster
            informs the chalk leader that the baggage is 26,000 pounds over the
            limit. This ends up causing one trailer load of baggage being
            designated 'frustrated cargo'. and to be pelletized for a later
            flight. The flight departs at 0600, arrives at Nurnberg at 1530
            (after a 2 hour lay over in Rome), and then buses bring the
            soldiers to Bamberg at 1630 hours. Company formations are held,
            safety briefings are given. and soldiers are released until 0900 on
            29 Apr 91.


            25 Apr 91: The BN (-) at the Port of Jubayl departs SWA from King
            Fahd International Airport.
