      2.  (U) Operation Desert Shield 90, Aug 90.

      3.  (U) Keywords: BDE S2, Redeployment.
      4.  (U) Title: Re-establishment of Garrison Arms Rooms.

      5.  (U) Observation: The Bde S2 advanced party was tasked to
      re-establish the Ft. Bliss Arms Rooms for redeploying units.
      6. (U) Discussion:   Re-establishing the Bde arms rooms was
      difficult due to the wrong personnel redeploying. The personnel
      should have included the unit armorer and a unit supply individual
      familiar with the unit supply system. Arms rooms weapons racks
      and high security locks were in demand during the redeployment
      phase.

      7. (U) Lesson Learned. Units redeploying should identify the
      unit armorer and supply personnel to expedite the re-establishing
      of the arms rooms.
      8. (U) Recommended Actions: Establish a procedure for closing
      and turn-in of arms rooms equipment (keys to Bn for turn-in to
      Bde) prior to deployment. Identify the armorer and supply
      personnel for re-establishing arms rooms.
