1. The war in Southwest Asia is over and the soldiers are beginning to
return. It was a success story because of extraordinary efforts by those in
the theater and those in various locations around the world, along with
dedicated family support groups. The dental support for irobilization uorld-
wide was exceptional. It was truly a team effort. You.- efforts are appreciated
wbethe@.- yi7,i were in the war zone or on the outside. %le will maintain ou-- team
esprit. Leaders at every level must focus on-lessons learned in the combat
zone, mobilization and deploymnt areas and during redeploymnt. One thing for
sure, you all did a c
.treat job and on behalf of The Army Surgeon General and
7he Army Staff, "Thai* You."

2. Now vm can focus on celebration, the returning dental folks, both Active
and Reserve, and those who supported from afar can celebrate together with their
families. The letter I wrote to ou- folks in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq is
enclosed for all to read. The bottom line is the entire military and clearly
the Army ?4edical Department, including dental, rade us proud.
3. ;-k- still have dental folks in Sout@@st Asia and they will be among the
last to leave. %le look for a quick reunion with &.ei-- families as we rotate
personnel in and out of the area. Anyone interested in serving a short tour
in the area should talk with their commnder who should contacts the Dental
Corps Branch.
