         MEMORANDUM FOR MEMBERS OF THE DENTAL CARE SYSTEM

         SUBJECT: Dental Corps Branch Newsletter, 3rd Quarter PY 91

         SEE DISTRIBUTION

         PERSONNEL C33MGBS. COL Everett G. Newbry 7R. has arrived in DC
         Branch to assume duties as the Branch Chief. COL ZaMea Ro Pay
         departed I Mar 91 to assume duties as the Senior Dental Corps Staff
         Officer in the office of the Chief, Army Dental Corps.

         COLONEL (0-6) CONX&ND SELECTION BOARD. The Colonel selection Board
         considers all eligible promotable Lieutenant colonels and Colonels.
         Officers who do not want to be considered for command should notify
         Dental Branch in writing. officers must write to Branch every year
         they do not wish to be considered for command. Officers who are
         selected for the primary command list and decline the offered
         command are tot eligible for future commands. Those on the primary
         command list who are deferred will be considered by the next board,
         and if revalidated will remain on the primary list ahead of new
         SOleatees. Those interested in command should insure their records
         and photos are in order.

         STOP LOSS - DM!EOBILIRATION. Desert Storm Policy Message Number 56
         announced our Stop Loss Demobilization policy. Officers who were
         retained on active duty beyond an established release date will be
         separated as expeditiously as possible, but not later than 7 aul
         91. Priority for out processing will be based on the availability
         Of the officer, the officer's original separation date and the
         capability of the transition point. officers with a separation
         date between 9 Mar 91 and 6 aul 91 may separate on their scheduled
         separation date or may request a delay up to 7 -Tul 91. Officers
         scheduled to separate on or after 7 aul 91 will separate as
         scheduled.  officers with an approved voluntary retirement date of
         30 Sept 91 or earlier will be contacted by their servicing
         transition point in order to establish or confirm their retirement
         date. The  new retirement date must be on or before 30 Sep 91 and
         Vill be based on the desires of the officer and the capability of
         the transition point. officers with an approved voluntary
         retirement date on or after 31 Oct 91 will retire as scheduled. Any
         changes to separation or retirement dates that meet the above
         guidelines may be acted on by the servicing transition point. Any
         requests for extension beyond 7 aul 91 (separations) or 30 Sep 91
         (voluntary retirements) must be fully documented and forwarded
