The President and General Commander of the Armed Forces (may
God preserve his life), while decorating a number of fighters for
courage, this evening of 17 April 1990, has ordered that:
Suggestions be submitted for honoring the martyrs of the
glorious and secret battle of Saddam, those who deserve to be
honored since the start of the war with the enemy until cease-fire
on 8 August 1988.
Please prepare forms for nominating deserving martyrs and
this should be endorsed by their commanders at the time, in
addition to the commander of the (illegible) and the
organization's secretary, and advise us.

Reference the letter of the 18th Division Command number 1955
of 13 April, which was communicated to us in implementation of the
directives given by the Venerable President and Commander Saddam
Hussein (may God preserve his life) while decorating a selected
number of commanders for courage on 9 April 1990:
1. It is prohibited to carry military rank insignia produced in
the local markets. Only the rank insignia made available by
the Army should be used.
2. It is prohibited to wear non-standard uniforms. The
following should be observed:
a. For officers: the olive color uniforms. It is
prohibited to wear spotted uniforms or uniforms used by
the file and ranks, or red and short shoes.
b. For file and rank: use only the supplies designated for
file and rank. It is prohibited to use supplies used by
the officers or use black short shoes or boots.
3. The steel helmets should be worn in the positions. The
berets should not be used except in rear positions and when
going to town.
4. The uniforms of the file and rank should be kept clear, and
this should be inspected on a continuous basis by the
officers.
5. Non-standard supplies should not be worn. All personnel
should comply with the instructions in the Military Dress
Manual.
6. The rank insignia for officers and rank and file should be in
accordance with the official specifications, and this should
be adhered to by all.
We hope that the above will be complied with. A follow-up
will be made by our headquarters and deviations will be penalized.

Directorate number 483 of 15 March 1990, which was communicated by
the top secret letter of the 4th Corps'Specimen Park number 132 of
21 March 1990, which in turn was communicated to us by the secret
letter (Supply) of the 18th Infantry Division Command number 1679
of 2 April 1990.
1. Collecting the buttons in clothes and turning them over
to the Burning Committee on the designated day for
burning.
2. The burning site should be near the park headquarters at
Kmeit.
3. Fetching a quantity of white petroleum by the soldiers
when sending the units at the at the fixed time.
4. Signing five copies of Form 344 by the committee set up
in our battalion to make sure that the items have
actually been consumed. The forms should then be
stamped by the unit's stamp carrying its explicit name.
Please make preparation at the fixed time and advise us.
