Force, Navy, and Marines:
(a) Class VIII consumable supplies
(b) Medical maintenance
(c) Optical fabrication
(d) Medical oxygen production
(2) All divisional units requiring medical supplies
may requisition from their supporting Division Medical
Supply Office (DM50). The DMS0 and corps level units will
requisition from their supporting MEDSOM. This will
initially be USAMMCSA but may change as additional MEDSOMs
flow into theater. The depot operates using CTASC II
hardware and the Theater Army Medical Management Information
System - Medical Supply (TAMMIS) as the operating medical
logistics software system. Medical units not TAMMIS
equipped and trained will be equipped and trained in
theater.
(3) The medical materiel pipeline is established
using Air Line of Communications (ALOC) from the U.S. Army
Medical Materiel Center Europe (USAMMCE) to theater.
Medical materiel is also supplied from Defense Personnel
Support Center (DPSC) via ALOC to theater. Requisitions
unable to be filled from the theater depot are passed back
to USAMMCE, if unable to be filled they are then passed to
DPSC for fill.
(4) USAMMCSA is currently stocking' 3000(+) lines of
medical materiel with emphasis on DEPMEDS standard items.
Approximately 70 to 75% of requisitions are being filled
from depot stocks. For routine requisitions passed to
USAMMCE, order and ship time back to theater averages 15
days.
(5) In addition to the depot operation, forward
supply points have been established, located in areas
where medical units are concentrated. As the theater
grows more supply points will be established to ensure
rapid resupply of critical and high volume items.
(6) Of critical importance is the establishment of
liaison and communications with your DMSO, MEDSOM or
USAMMCSA. These organizations are poised to respond to any
medical materiel need but can only be effective when
direct liaison is established with units requiring medical
materiel support. Each unit requiring support must report
to the appropriate medical supply organization their UIC,
DODAAC, and location to establish themselves as a bonified
customer.
