MOBItITY/COUNTERMOBIThITY - 6
TOPIC: Vehicle Mobility
DISCUSSION:
Vehicle power does not necessarily equate to mobility in the
desert environment. Drivers must utilize a combination of speed,
gearing, braking, and steering to operate successfully. Routes
can be made impassable if several vehicles drive over the same
track. Additionally, the sand and dust can present a safety and
visibility problem for vehicles operating in column.
LESSO~(S) tEARNED:
When possible, vehicles should not follow directly in column when
conducting cross desert travel.
