DISCUSSION:

Available time should be utilized for training in the area of
operations to prepare and familiarize personnel and equipment.

LESSON(S) LEARNED:

Training in the following areas should receive consideration:

      1.  Training of all types in maneuvering in open, sandy
          terrain.

      2.  Techniques of cover and camouflage in open terrain.

      3.  Recognition and identification of targets under varying
          conditions of light and temperature.

      4.  Boresighting, zeroing and firing of all weapons at
          maximum effective ranges.

      5.  Night driving and navigation.

      6.  Constructing obstacles, barriers, and mines.
