TOPIC:  M258Al Decontamination Kits

DISCUSSION:

The M258A1 Decomtamination Kit was tested to the storage
limitation of 110 degrees Fahranheit.  The ambient temperature in
SWA sometimes exceeds this limitation.

LESSON(S) LEARNED:

Due to excessive temperatures in SWA, the M258Al Kit should be
inspected on a regular monthly basis for swollen "number two"
packets, leaking packets, or ones which have burst.   Keep the
M258A1s out of direct sunlight and conduct routine inspections of
the contents.
