complicated with unforeseen overpayments. The primary means for each
member to monitor their monetary entitlements is the Leave and
Earnings Statement. January's LES's are still in the mail?
3. Direct Deposit System. We (U.S. Navy) are adamant about
our folks being enrolled in DDS. This is one of the best automatic
pay deposit programs established. We also encourage members to
obtain a means to acquire desired funds for their use which won't
complicate or disrupt monies they provide to spouses and other family
members selected. Normal pay procedures include the ability of
individuals to negotiate personal checks. This did not take place
within Headquarters Battalion, hence, support from the battalion in
providing complete assistance relating to normal paycall procedures
were not available. Furthermore, when paycall or a "make up" is held

significantly increased by hands-on training from both experienced
medical personnel and the Marines they supported.
B. Female Hospital Corps personnel. A total of five females
were assigned to the aid station. One was administratively dis-

Policy resulting in her non-deployability and is subject to
administrative separation. Three were deployed in support of
Operation Desert Shield and provided staffing for the rear aid
station. The deployed females performed outstandingly. The field
experienced ones played a key role in assuring that field procedures
were adhered to. They willingly reported to the forward aid station
when needed and have performed impressively from the onset.
X. Division Environmental Health Officer.
A. Discussion. The information provided by the EHO was
