              the attack on to the Emir's farm and to Al Jaber Airfield.


              Team Mech - Lane #3
                          Minefield approx 120m deep. lst Mkl54 shot
              deployed but did not fire. Detonated by hand. 2nd and 3d
              also malfunctioned. Tank plow cleared last 30m.

              Team Tank - Lane #4
                          Minefield greater than 100m deep. 2 shots from
              Mkl54 worked as designed.

              2d breach - 3 Of 5 Mkl54s were misfires (40% success rate)



              26 Feb 91 0630 - Having sat at Al Jaber for more than 24
              hours 1/7 finally moved north towards the Kuwait International
              Airport. The weather was still overcast and light rain. The
              day turned into night as a result of the burning oil wells.
              Visibility was no more than 200m throughout the day.

                         1530 - 1/7 reached in-depth wire obstacle just
              north of Phase Line Margaret. Team Mech opened 3 lanes and
              Team Tank opened  2 lanes thru the wire obstacles.

              3d breach - 3 of  3 M58s were misfires (O% success rate)
                          0 of  3 Mkl54s were misfires (100% success rate)


              Total efficiency  for entire ground war -
                          4 of  5 M58s were misfires (20% success)
                          6 of  11 Mkl54s were misfires (45% success)


                         1730 - 1/7 reach Kuwait International Airport this
              is basically the end of the war for 1/7. The engineers
              continue to clear bunkers and to disable any enemy guns that
              are still able to fire. All weapons caches and ammo dumps are
              marked.
