              24 Feb 91 - "G" day

0001 - Move out in Bn Vee formation. It is very
dark and the low cloud cover blocks out the 80% illumination
from the moon, that we are supposed to have.

0117 - We cross into Kuwait. It is still very dark
              and overcast.

0330 - Battalion stops at their attack position.

0515 - Move out from attack position. A slight
              drizzle is falling.

0620 - 1/7 begins first breach. It is raining and
visibility is not as good as it could be. We take no enemy
fire. The breach is not defended.

              Team Mech - Lane #3, grid IDS743766
lst M58 went as planned, but the tank w/ roller
hit a TM62M (AT) mine and blew off a track. No casualties.
Mkl54 sent in to open another lane.

              Team Tank - Lane #4, grid QS747775
lst M58 deployed but did not detonate. Capped and
detonated by hand. Required additional line charges due to
              its depth (>100m).

              lst breach - 1 of 2 M58s were misfires (50% success rate)
             3 of 3 Mkl54s were misfires (O% success rate)

1230 - 1/7 begins second breach. The weather is
starting to clear. We take small arms and artillery fire.
Upon completion of the breach, 1/7 began taking hundreds of
EPWS. They (EPWS) were coming from everywhere. We were
concerned about being slowed by the EPWS. 1/7 did continue
