1. SITUATION.
a. EN-EM-Y.--FORCES-. See Annex B (Intelligence)
(1) Defensive_C@al?!L@ e@s. The enemy is prepared to fight.

(2) Other Cavabiliti.es. Flame weapons are found throughout
enemy units and will provide a significant shock effect in close
combat situations. Smoke units will be capable of concealing
operations, personnel and installations as well as providing
tacti.cal deception.
(3) Offensive_CA_p The enemy is believed to have
chemical warfare capability consisting of weapons filled with
adly chemical agents of World War I variety;
Its indigeniOLIS chemical industry has the potential of
manufacturing a diversity of agents including blood, blister, Ariki
chocking agents. The enemy has a number of possible suppliers
collectively covering the complete spectrum of chemical a@l(-rt";
packaged in warheads compatible with its delivery systems.
Availability of chemical. agent technology and thEtrela-li-v(@ fears of
cultivating biological agents, including mycotoxi.rs, hold the
potential. of the enemy developing both nerve and biological warfare.
While the enemy has not issued any formal policy statement or., its
intent to either employ or prohibit the use of chemical w(,@aF)on@..;.
chemical warfare offers the enemy a means to make rapi.d early
advances, capturing significant amounts of territory in the i.ri.7Lt:i,,i.i
phase of conflict. Due to the closed nature of the enemy's co(-,ioty
and its preclusion of most foreign natiortr. from its territory,
physical evidence substantiating its offensive chemical warfarc,
capability has not been obtained. However, it should not be
