1STLT BELL: Back on helos, sir, these 19 helos break down of ten
at one location, and another location we have one Super Frelon
and seven others that's been deemed possibly special forces
activity. We believe that the dispersal of this aircraft is not
in a defensive measure, but rather in training with some of the
   ground forces.

No additional changes on naval or missile or ground. On
CI, just one note, sir. We have a report that cholera is
spreading throughout Kuwait. It's believed the disease was
introduced into the area by the Iraqis. Previous cholera
outbreaks had been in Kuwait, but taken care of through proper
   preventive and medical --

GEN BOOMER: Why do you think Iraq would have introduced cholera
   into Kuwait?

ISTLT BELL: Not as a purposeful, but the soldiers who had it,
sir, came in and infected the area; as to the fact that the water
power station systems are not functioning properly - they lack
chlorine for purifying the water; and there are also reports
there have been worms detected in the water, and believe with the
poor sanitation standards that those types of services are not
being provided in Kuwait, all joined together to propogate the
   furthering of this disease.

GEN BOOMER: What's the magnitude of it; any idea?

ISTLT BELL: No, sir, not at this point in time. we are
continuing to look into that, sir, and see if we can got more
   information.

G-3 AIR: Morning, sir. MAG-11 flew eight SIMCAS sorties in
support of I MEF. Hornets, F-15's and AWACS flew in support at
King Fahad Range and were opposed by Mirage 2000's. While the
Mirage 2000 is more capable than the F-1 the Iraqis fly, it is
excellent training in lookout tactics against the similar
aircraft. VMO-2 employed laser SIMCAS, and 342 had Maverick
training. There were two TOWs fired, and the missiles only got a
50 percent success rate. The one that failed had been tracked to
an associated bad lot; it's got a historical error rate out of
   that lot of TOWs.

GEN BOOMER: How many TOWs in that lot?

G-3 AIR: I don't know how many per lot, sir, but 12 out of that.
The All called and adjusted artillery fire at Redleg for 5/11, and
   that's all I have, sir.

G-3 GROUND: Sir, in operational GCE activity, 3/3 conducted a
joint security patrol with the 7th Armor Brigade and 24th ID.
Task Force Taro established a fire support coordination center to
control the artillery shoot at Redleg; and GSG-2 activated at Al
   Mishab with a nine-man staff.

In live fire training, on Redleg Range 11th Marines fired
