Staffords fired small arms.
in other training at Task Force Taro, subordinate
battalions practiced basic infantry school training, NBC monitor
and survey exercises, company level mechanized training; and 3/3
exchanged companies with the Army for a joint training program.
Task Force Ripper conducted its field exercise with a night move
to contact to an attack position just north of the AB line -
that's the road from Abu Hadriya, southeast - followed by an
attacking zone to destroy the enemy and create a passage lane for
follow-on forces. 7th Armor Brigade supported its helo force in
the conduct of a modevac exercise. They evacuated over 100
personnel through their chain to their field hospital; and
subordinate elements did a mine laying and clearing exercise and
platoon battle drills. In SRIG training, their deployable CP,
which is currently in the northern area, were testing
communications and did.two night displacements and a day
displacement; and the Radio section of Co B, 9th Comm, set up a
medium to transmit images from the MEF to the Division Forward.
GEN BOOMER: Intelligence kind of images; is that what we are
talking about?
G-3 GROUND: Yes, sir. Tracking Army Phase II deployment, 84
percent of VII Corps equipment has now left home station, and the
Corps ammunition loadout will be complete by 15 December. 48
ships are en route to Southwest Asia from Germany; two have
already offloaded and are headed back, two are offloading now and
four more are due in today. Bad weather in Europe is slowing the
deployment, and some movements were canceled yesterday due to
road conditions.
Four MPS ships are loaded out in the SPOEs, six ships en
route to Southwest Asia; and MPS-1 is due east of Gutera.
This afternoon we will be running another schedule drill
communications check at 9:30 this morning, sir.
COL LOHMAN: Only two additional items, sir. 1600 today the
range team is expected to arrive from Quantico. We are all set
to pick them up, have spaces for them to live and work.

In the last meeting we had with he asked
for a letter outlining the ranges and air space requirements. We
have been coordinating that with EPAC. We have to have the
letter completely drafted, areas reconned and everything in three
days, sir. That's on track.
GEN BOOMER: All right. We are going at this a lot of different
ways. I hope they all come together somehow.
