               Encl: (1) Medical Training Objectives

               1. During the upcoming training cycle, effective training to the
known threats is critical. The enclosed training objectives were
developed to assist medical personnel at the regimental and
battalion levels to plan their training and drills. The Division
training order for unit training (Ref (a)) includes medical
training: medical personnel should coordinate with vour-S-3/Ops for
exact schedule and dates. Regimental surgeons should coordinate
scenarios with their respective G-3/Ops and subordinate battalion
               surgeons.

               2. It is anticipated that the enclosures will be used by the
regimental and separate battalion surgeons (with assistance from the
Division Surgeon as required) to develop training Plans and
coordinate drills at the regimental and battalion levels. For the
Present. drills using actual transfer of casualty roleplayers should
stop at the BAS or RAS levels. This office is coordinating with
other commands for possibly extending the casualty play to include
Echelon II facilities and air assets: details to be announced at a
               later date.

               3. DurinA casualty drills, these training objectives will be used
by Division Surgeons Office observers to assist medical personnel in
evaluating their performance and identifying weaknesses.

               4. Training topics: Staff Planning. Conventional Casualty
Treatment. Chemical Casualty Treatment, and Casualty Treatment and
