for word to continue contingent on announcement of Iraqi
agreement to withdraw from Kuwait. An observation: prevalent
attitude throughout Riyadh (USCENTAP/ USNAVCENT Liaison/,TFACC)
is the ground offensive will be short and decisive. Met with
BGen flall, USAF, coordinator for JFACC CAS, and had good
discussion as to how "push" CAS for USMARCENT/USARCENT/JFC-E/
JFE-N will be coordinated. Also spent much time with USNAVCENT
Liaison; met with RAdm Laufenbauer and Capt Bien. Discussed
Navy CAS in support of Marines.

25th day with little Iraqi air activity; however, helicopters
            still pose a threat.

                 C. fC94 VAdm Arthur approved placing ASRT on Kubbar Island
with provisions that COMUSMARCENT can use it, and it is chopped
to CG 3D MAW to ensure integrity of 14ACCS. N-33 coordinating
            message with COMUSMARCENT (FWD) staff.

                 d. W4 VAdm Arthur believes we will have to drive right in
from the battleship FSA to a oort facility. Regrets not setting
FSA up on 45 degree oblique, one of the rejected options.

                 e. +@+ USCINCCENT 24113OZ Feb 91 to COMUSNAVCENT states
due to current operations in the KTO, reduced scope raid concept
