         7 -   First church service is hold.

         7 -   orthopaedic Department opened for the care of patients.

         7 -   The Laboratory performed its first test-a CBC, completely
               manual.

         7 -   The pharmacy ISO container was located and assembly of the
               pharmacy began.

         7 -   The Laboratory picked up the first shipment of packed red
               blood cells from the Armed Services Blood Depot at Saudi
               Naval Base, 51 Unit.

         7 -   Preventive Medicine inspected and approved the galley for
               opening with a score of 98 percent. This inspection was
               followed by routine supervisory inspections.

         8 -   The Galley opened serving first hot meals, three daily, and
               MRE's for mid-rats. Previously, only MREs were available.
               Food Service exceeds theater standard of one hot meal and
               two MRE'S.

         8 -   The Laboratory received blood typing sera from Ist MEF
               Surgical Support Unit.

         8  -  Ophthalmology clinic became operational.
         8  -  First neurosurg@ patient seen.  5 USC 522(b)(6)
         8  -  First FH5 surgery admission, CPT           USMC, with
               diagnosis of right masseteric space nfectlon.

         8  -  ENT clinic was established and prepared to receive patients.

         8  -  Central Sterilization Room (CSR) is set up in the main
               operating room area.
         9  -  Laboratory received the first shipment of blood units.

         9  -  Pharmacy officially opened and first prescription was
               dispensed.

         9  -  Several firsts were noted for Pastoral Care on this date
               including Choir performance, Adult Sunday School, Protestant
               Traditional Service and Protestant Contemporary Service.

         9 -   Preventive Medicine began inspections of the waterfront for
               rodent activity.
