operations. Equipment includes 3 ABFC washer/dryer units.
10 - First Catholic Mass is conducted.

10 - Prep and Hold became operational.
10 - Laboratory prepared its first batch of biological culture
media, using the chow hall "tilt table" as no other method
of cooking was available.

10 - Completed Public Works structures officially opened for
maintenance business. The Fire House was also completed and
began manned operations 24-hours a day.
10 - Laboratory receipt of first microbiology specimen (heel
blister) and serology test (a monospot).
10 - Preventive Medicine first sprayed the waterfront with 1
percent Baygon to protect workers constructing heliport from
scorpions. The first inspection of laundry was also
conducted.
11 - The first ward opened (ward 2) and received its first
patient.
11 - ICU wards all opened and functioning for official opening of

11 - First patient was seen in the ENT clinic by Lcdr
11 - Prep and Hold prepared their first patient for incision and
drainage of a leg abscess.
11 - First E-4 exam was given to 94 FH5 staff members.
11 - Galley personnel were first instructed in the proper
chlorination procedures for fresh fruit and vegetables.
12 - Fleet Hospital Five became fully operational as of 1600.
