         disease (STD), unexplained fever, psychiatric, dental, and

         miscellaneous. Patients seen for follow-up visits were not re-

         entered in a disease category. Therefore, surveillance data

         reflect the incidence of disease or injury that resulted in a

         health care visit.






                                     RESULTS



             6,772 sick call visits were recorded at the four squadron

         aid stations, the headquarters aid station and the regimental

         clearing station during this 19-week period preceeding the ground

         war. 39.2% of 3d ACR outpatient visits were to the four line

         squadron aid stations, 8.4% were to the headquarters aid station,

         and 52.4% were to the clearing station.

             The 3d ACR clearing station provided medical support on an

         area-coverage basis. Therefore, patients arriving at the

         clearing station represented a constantly changing, diverse group

         as supported units entered and left the 3d ACR area. A two week
