                     (3) Other: The DASG Ad Hoc Working Group on Medical
            Issues related to Desert Shield reviewed the use of Ribavirin
            and Centoxin. Limited quantities of Ribavirin and Contoxin have
            been received by the Medical Research and Development Command
            (MRDC). The working group recommended that MRDC finalize
            protocols for use of Centoxin and prepare investigator brochures
            for use by physicians. See Encl one: SGPS-CP-M Memorandum,

            Medical Issues Review and Ad Hoc Working Group

            3. CURRENT SITUATION

                a.   Estimates:

                     (1) Heat casualty clusters reported: None.

                     (2) Water/Food/Vector related disease outbreaks:
                           see paragraph two b.

                b.   Resources available: As the number of troops increase
            in the theater additional Corps level preventive medicine teams
            will be required. The Health Services Command is coordinating
            assignment of individual mobilization augmentees to provide
            support at selected CONUS installations.

                C.   Preventive medicine course of action: Determine
            additional CORPS level preventive medicine resources re @ red to
            support increasing troop populations.
