RECRUITER'S RAP:

A "crash course" in recruiting:

Applicant must meet weight standards
Applicant must pass mental examination
Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
 (Age adjustment for prior service)
No serious criminal offenses

Remember it doesn't do any of us any good when you refer someone who can't meet
the above criteria. They get annoyed at you, the recruiter, and the unit as well. So let's
try to keep these few rules in mind when talking to a potential recruit. As always if you
have questions please call the recruiting office.

MSgt. Wesley Hunter, ext. 253.

OFFICER UNIFORM UPDATE

Effective Nov. 29, 1990, the entitlement to the officer uniform Maintenance Allowance
(UMA) is deleted. All officers that have a UMA date of Nov. 29, 1990 and after, will not
be entitled to the allowance.

This entitlement was replaced in Public Law 101-189, by deleting Title 37, Section 410,
Subsection (a). It was Subsection (a) that authorized the UMA.
