      Laura Nelms, from the 422nd to be moved to Khamis Mushait on a
      permanent basis. This 91T will provide primary care for MWD's in
      that area and also be on call to travel to Jeddah to treat Dogs.
      SPC Nelms will receive some OJT in Riyadh for 7-10 days prior to
      deployment.

      27 Dec 1990

           COL Alm coordinated with MAJ Brogdon on new people to be
      deployed to the Theater in January. MEDCOM is short 32
      veterinary assets at present. It was announced today that the
      TOE assets of deactivated 9th Hospital Center in Europe will be
      transferred to ARCENT MEDCOM (Provisional) in the near future.
      SGT Jon Brice, 91T was assigned to 423rd Med Det.

           COL Trask, MAJ Gross traveled to Dhahran to visit units,
      attended meeting at 483rd Med Det and attended food service
      meeting.   COL Alm and CW3 Brandow also traveled by separate car
      to Dhahran to attend same meetings and visit all Ration Storage
      sites in the Dammam Port Area. All MRE reserves at port area,
      are now being stored in a large refrigerated warehouse operated
      by the 295th GSU.   This warehouse can store up to 15,000,000
      rations and is an extremely modern storage facility. All
      officers returned to Riyadh in evening. CW3 Brandow will return
      to Eastern Province in a week to organize Operational Ration
      Inspection Program.
          LTC Dutton of the 44th Med Bde visited the 73rd Med Det (JA),
      CPT Schultheiss, commander, at the 24th Infantry Division site.
      They visited at preventive medicine units in the area and all
      inspection sites. The 73rd Med Det will be replaced shortly at
      their site by the 428th Med Det (JA) also of the 44th Med Bde.
      They will service that site for 2 to 3 weeks prior to moving
      forward and that AOR will then revert to EAC support to be
      covered by the 483rd Med Det (JB)     SSG Quick was reassigned to
      the 483rd Med Det.


      29 Dec 1990

           LTC Lively traveled to Riyadh to work with CW3 Brandow and
      office staff to clean up file on the approved list. New list
      will be published on I Jan. In January we will begin doing
      quarterly routine sanitaries on perishables and semi-perishable
      food vendors inspected in September and October. Halawani Cold
      storage was inspected and approved by LTC Platt and CW3 Brandow,
      for distribution of approved items. CPT Adams went on two day
      TDY to Jeddah and Taif for initial sanitary inspections.

      30 Dec 1990

           COL Alm coordinated problems with movement of 483rd Med Det
      out of M & M compound in Eastern Province. We are trying to keep
      the 483rd at present site so they will have a TAC phone and some
      communication.   Communication is the most critical item in this
