Iraq conducted limited short range reconnaissance
patrols south of the Saudi border in an attempt to develop
information an U.S. and coalition forces in the forward
areas.
Since the start of Desert Storm, Iraq launched at
least 30 SCUDs at Saudi Arabia and Israel. Most of the
launches came from mobile launchers in the vicinity of
fixed sites.
25 Jan., Iraq launched six, possibly seven, SCUDs at Israel
from western Iraq. There were three confirmed impacts in
the Tel Aviv area,
26 Jan: The enemy launched three SCUDs today at Saudi
Arabia. No impacts or damages were reported. 5 U.S.C. 552 (b)(1)
Iraq continued to reinforce its border with Turkey=
The only rail line between Baghdad and Al Basrah was
cut.
Five to seven SCUDs were launched against Saudi
Arabia. Four missiles were launched against Israel.
;R7 Jan: At least 30 enemy aircraft flew to Iran. The
majority of Iraqls intelligence collection aircraft and
several helicopters were among these aircraft. Iran said
these aircraft would not leave Iran until the end of the
war.
1-7 Cav captured 5 Iraqi deserters in their area of
operations.
29 Jan: Three SCUD missiles were launched: two missiles at
Israel and one at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. . 5 U.S.C. 552 (b)(1)
3ei Jan: The enemy began a spoiling attack into Saudi
Arabia with the small abandoned town of Khafji as their
objective. This attack involved elements of three heavy
